Ulster: Three more years for Pienaar!

by

,

We didn’t make a big fuss when Toulon came a-calling and we won’t make a big fuss now, but I was delighted to receive an email this evening at the end of a (successful) ISO Audit that Ruan Pienaar has signed up for another three years at Fortress Ravenhill.

As we said at the end of our article on Williams and Diack we were expecting this to happen:

One thing about both these signings is that it is somewhat comforting that Ulster continue to look to the future amidst all the uncertainty surrounding the Heineken Cup. Hopefully a few more signatures will be added in the coming weeks, Pienaar being one.

Pienaar will make his appearance on Friday night from the bench and it will be interesting to see what sort of decibel level the new ground can generate when he does! However while the re-signing does sort of put Ulster in the big league as far as attracting overseas players goes it . . .

And so it came to pass that Pienaar did get a huge cheer when he came on. Also correct in that the forwards won the game. I thought Court deserved MoM, but the back row were excellent, as was Rory.
