PRO12: Connacht v Ulster Preview.

It appears that there will be minor changes to the starting XV for Saturday’s must win game (has it got to that time already) against Connacht.

The smart money appears to be on the back line remaining the same as last week with Craig Gilroy starting from the bench in place of Ricky Andrew, up front we should see Sean Doyle and Dan Tuohy take a rest while Robbie Diack and Iain Henderson start in a heavyweight pack. Don’t know if the changes in the pack are due to injury, part of a resting policy or whether Anscombe wants the forwards to take the game to the Westies with Diack’s and Henderson’s handling abilities preferred?

Whatever the starting line up, one certainty is that Ulster will need to improve their handling and decision making under pressure in all aspects of the game. Having had very few warm up matches this season I think we are slightly off the pace and the same back line playing together is perhaps no bad thing but there needs to be a definite improvement in timing their runs as last weeks efforts were fairly predictable.

Ulster (TBC): Jared Payne, David . . .
