Wham, balm, thank you Mam! Ulster got back to winning ways with an emphatic 47 – 17 win over Scarlets at Fortress Ravenhill on Friday night to open up an 11 point gap at the top of the PRO12.
Ulster’s tries came from Robbie Diack, Nick Williams, Andrew Trimble and Neil McComb with the referee awarding a penalty try. Ruan Pienaar had an exemplary night with the boot adding four penalties and two conversions before Darren Cave chipped in with a quick conversion and Paddy Jackson slotted over the final two.
Few would have guessed that it would be such a comfortable win during the opening exchanges with Scarlets dominating the first twenty minutes of the game. In fact with Ulster trailing 0 – 3, through a Thomas penalty, and D’Arcy . . .
