You wait all day for a squad announcement and then they all come along at once. Didn’t have to change this one much as it’s same again for Ireland.

The Ireland team to play France Italy in the RBS 6 Nations Championship on Saturday, February 21st in Stade de France Lansdowne Road has been named.

There is one change to the starting XV as Keith Earls returns to the starting XV having missed out on the game against Wales last  a few Sunday’s ago. Fergus McFadden moves to the bench in place of David Kearney.

IRELAND: (15-9) Rob Kearney, Tommy Bowe, Keith Earls, Gordon D’Arcy, Andrew Trimble, Jonathan Sexton, Conor Murray. (1-8) Cian Healy, Rory Best, Mike Ross, Donncha O’Callaghan, Paul O’Connell, Stephen Ferris, Sean O’Brien, Jamie Heaslip. (16-22) Sean Cronin, Tom Court, Donnacha Ryan, Peter O’Mahony, Eoin Reddan, Ronan O’Gara, Fergus McFadden.

It’s a pity Ireland didn’t have the balls to make a few more changes for this one in an effort to determine what sort of strength in depth there is dotted around the provinces. Unfortunately the IRFU and Kidney are too intent on protecting . . .
