Watched this one after I returned from the Ireland Women’s match last night and the contrast couldn’t have been more stark. Having watched a game filled with power and pace and precision as the Irish girls romped home, the sight of Ulster stumbling to a home win with little flair was a disappointment, but unfortunately, not a surprise.
[aside type=”rant” status=”closed”]Just a little rant! It was great to watch rugby as it should be played down in Ashbourne as the ladies played with accurate passing, great hands, fabulous defence and the ball doing the work as the girls ran great lines in attack. Three of the Ulster girls in the Ireland side were aged 19, 20 and 21, just going out and doing their job at full International level.
The girls will be playing again next Saturday in the re-arranged match against Wales at Ashbourne KO 13:30. Well worth the 2 hour trip in my book. [/aside]
