Ahead of this Saturday’s final Heineken Cup pool game, Ulster Rugby has received a boost with the news that No.8 Roger Wilson is set to return to the province for the start of next season. He will join Ulster on a three year deal.

Wilson made his Ulster debut in September 2003 against the Ospreys and was twice The Front Row Union Player of the Year in 2006 and 2007. He moved to Northampton in the summer of 2008 and has consistently been part of the Premiership side’s matchday XV where he has collected winner’s medals from both the European Challenge Cup and the LV=Cup

Roger has been capped at A International level and has one senior cap won on Ireland’s 2005 tour to Japan.

 While the back row is already a competitive area, the addition of Roger to the squad will provide us with the depth we need to ensure we are competitive in both the RaboDirect PRO12 and the Heineken Cup.

He displays all the physical attributes necessary for a top-class No.8 and is an incredibly consistent performer.  He’s currently playing the . . .
