On Thursday afternoon Carrickfergus Grammar School met Cookstown High School in the Intermediate Cup Final at Stormont.
Overhead weather conditions were challenging. A strong cold wind drove heavy rain soaking players, officials, supporters and this photographer!

Cookstown took control early on forcing Carrick to defend deep. Carrick couldn’t get the ball to their forwards through a congested midfield. Cookstown created chances but Bethany Wenlock, in the Carrick, goal performed wonders keeping her goal intact.
Despite relentless pressure in the rain halftime was reached scoreless.
The second half was similar, though the rain did ease. Cookstown piled on the pressure, Bethany Wenlock kept them at bay.
It was not until deep in the fourth quarter that Carrick had their only shot on goal, well saved by Yara Lopes.
Although they had all the pressure and territory Cookstown couldn’t find a goal as . . .
