It was back to Lower Cairncastle Road on Saturday morning for the Schoolgirls Junior Cup clash between Larne Grammar U14 and Ballymena Academy U14.

I’ve been impressed following the progress of this Larne team this season but the unbeaten run of matches covered came to a halt against a strong Ballymena side.

The visitors took the initiative in the first quarter with plenty of attacks and penalty corners but Lane scrambled hard in defence and the game was scoreless as we went into the second quarter.
