On a cold, sunny Wednesday afternoon Omagh Academy 3XI were the visitors to Holywood to play Sullivan Upper School 3XI in a Gibson Plate 2nd Round Tie.
For all their efforts neither side could impose themselves in a scoreless 1st half.
In the 3rd quarter Sullivan began to exert pressure and for long periods Omagh were trapped in their half. However, despite possession Sullivan couldn’t break down the Omagh defence. The 3rd quarter ended scoreless.
The 4th quarter began where the 3rd left off.
The breakthrough finally came in the 49th minute, when in a goalmouth scramble Ella Yeates scored from close range for what would ultimately be the winning goal.
