On a miserable wet Wednesday afternoon, Methodist College travelled to County Tyrone to play Cookstown High School in a Burney Cup First Round Tie. Only the intensity of the rain varied throughout the game.
Cookstown took control almost immediately. Their slick passing game found forwards in space creating problems in the Methody defence. It was inevitable that Cookstown would score.

Noah Cuddy opened the scoring from a penalty corner on 8 minutes and though Cookstown dominated proceedings, it remained 1-0 at the end of the 1st quarter.
