We caught up with the Denman Ulster Shield Group Match between Banbridge and Ulster University Elks at Havelock Park early on Saturday afternoon.

Banbridge enjoyed a fine start to the Ulster Shield group game with an early goal from Paula Atkinson for a 1 – 0 lead.

It looked like the home side were going to take the lead into Q2 but a late strike from the Elks Gabriella Scott at a penalty corner pulled it back to 1 – 1 just before the first break.

In a tight game there were no more scores in the first half.
