Women’s All Ireland: Pegasus 0 University College Dublin 2

We caught up with the Women’s All Ireland Hockey League game between Pegasus and University College Dublin at Newforge on Sunday afternoon.

Both teams had won the day before, Pegasus on the road against Railway Union and UCD on their tour of Ulster against Ulster University Elks so both were keen to make it two from two.

UCD went into attack mode straight from the whistle and, after 11 minutes, they took the lead when No 18, Rebecca Carthy deflected in at the near post for a 0 – 1 lead.

In an attacking game, good defending kept the scores down and both keepers were in fine form.

Mid way through the second quarter UCD increased their lead as Isobel Field slotted in a shot across the circle which game UCD a 0 – 2 lead at half time.
