On Wednesday afternoon Methodist College were the visitors to Lurgan College for a McCullough Cup Tier 2 Group Stage fixture.
Against a game but inexperienced Lurgan side, Methody were fast out of the blocks pressuring the Lurgan defence. In a goalmouth melee, Joash Varghesi struck the backboard to give Methody a 4th minute 1-0 lead.
With Lurgan unable to get out of their half the Methody blitz continued. Joash Varghese added his second goal on 8 minutes for Methody to lead 2-0.
