We caught up with the Irish Hockey Trophy game between Mossley and Avoca at The Glade, Mossley, early Saturday afternoon.
Two equally matched teams faced off at the Glade and for the first three quarters of the game, on a bitterly cold day, they cancelled each other out with defences taking charge.
It was in the final quarter that the visitors showed their experience and opened the scoring with a well taken penalty corner routine, Molly Cole getting the narrow angled shot past the keeper for a 0 – 1 lead to Avoca.
Mossley responded well but were kept at bay by a well disciplined defence . . .
