Early on a sunny but cold Monday afternoon, Belfast Royal Academy III faced Sullivan Upper School III in a Gibson Cup 2nd Round Tie at The Valley Leisure Centre.
The 1st half was scoreless, though that did not reflect on the efforts and skills of both sides. As neither side could dominate, the midfield became congested and, at times, the ball reaching the forwards was limited.
In the 3rd quarter both sides forced but couldn’t convert penalty corners and it remained scoreless.
