On a sunny Wednesday evening, Roughfort was the venue for the Women’s Senior 2 fixture between Owls and Ballyclare. Our friends at Owl needing a win to jump out of the relegation zone in their last fixture of the season.
Ballyclare took the game to Owls from pushback and midway through the first quarter took the lead with a fine penalty corner strike by Captain Heather Carson, giving the ‘keeper little chance. Despite creating other chances, the score remained 1-0 in Ballyclare’s favour at the end of the 1st quarter.
Ballyclare continued to dominate through the second quarter but couldn’t take advantage of their possession nor territory. Ballyclare led 1-0 at halftime.
