We caught up with the entertaining Ulster Schoolgirls Gibson Plate match between Victoria College 3XI and Banbridge Academy 3XI at a sunny Newforge Sports Centre on Wednesday afternoon.
While the low bright sunlight created plenty of shadow and glare it didn’t create much heat to warm the cold steady breeze across the pitch. However, it didn’t take the teams long to warm up in this entertaining clash.
Both teams had their periods of dominance in a tight first half but, despite a couple of close chances the defences dominated and we went into the second half with the game still at 0 – 0.
