I caught up with the Senior Cup hockey match between Sullivan Upper and Foyle College on Saturday morning at Sullivan.
Foyle started brightly and came close to scoring in the first minute with an early chance just wide. The visitors went on to create a few chances in the first half but it remained scoreless.
The Sullivan defence was caught out at a couple of penalty corners in the second quarter as Rosie McHugh opened the scoring with a clean strike to give Foye a 0 – 1 lead.
It looked as though McHugh had scored again three minutes later but it required a final touch from Ella McLaughlin to give Foyle a 0 – 2 lead at the break.
