On Wednesday afternoon Lisnagarvey Hockey Club was the neutral venue for the McCullough Cup Tier 2 Final between Grosvenor Grammar School and Methodist College.
It was a nervy start from both teams in the opening quarter with neither team able to string together telling passes in a congested midfield. Grosvenor edged the scoreless 1st quarter in terms of possession.
Grosvenor took control of the 2nd quarter when Thomas Bailie slotted his shot in from close range after 19 minutes.
Methody eventually found field position and following a penalty corner Ethan Hibble was on hand to stab home an equaliser on 24 minutes. Halftime was reached with the game tied at 1-1.
