I caught up with the first half of the U14 Schoolgirls hockey match between The Royal School Armagh and Strathearn early Saturday morning at College Hill.

It was an evenly contested first quarter with both sides keen to attack.

Strathearn force a save from the Armagh keeper in the first quarter.

Both keepers were called into action but the first quarter remained goalless.

Armagh had a strong second quarter and they were first on the scoreboard with a well taken goal from Katie Dunwoody who worked a clear run at the Strathearn keeper to rifle her shot in from the right .
