I caught up with the first half of the early morning senior girls hockey match between Larne Grammar and Sullivan Upper at Lower Cairncastle Road on Saturday morning.
Sullivan Upper started the game strongly and they were soon a goal to the good after a break found Emily Walls in space for a clinical finish.

The visitors continued to push forward throughout the first quarter, with Walls keeping the Larne defence on their toes, but there were no further scores and Larne were happy to only take a one goal deficit into the second quarter.
