In the first match of a double header, played at a sunny, hot Wallace Park, Lisburn, Northern Counties Women (80/1) defeated Cricket Leinster Women (76/8) by 9 wickets.
The tone was set for the Leinster innings with opener Ally Bouchert bowled first ball by Evie Keenan. Lara McBride was the highest Leinster scorer with 18 runs as NCU bowled aggressively, Emma Calvert having impressive figures picking up two wickets in her four overs for a meagre 11 runs.
