On Tuesday lunchtime Rainey Endowed School 2nd XI faced The Royal School Armagh 2nd XI in the final of the McDowell Cup at Stormont.
Rainey took control early on, against a strangely lethargic Armagh team, who struggled to get out of their own half. Rainey created chances but it took to the end of the quarter to break the stalemate. Rainey converted a penalty corner, when Imogen Scott struck home in the final move of the quarter to put Rainey 1-0 up.
Though scoreless in the 2nd quarter Rainey created all the chances. Rainey led 1-0 at half time.
