Railway Union, from South Dublin, were the visitors to Newforge, on Saturday, to meet Pegasus in an Irish Senior Cup Tie. It was grey, overcast, and bleak and a bitingly cold wind blew down the pitch, initially in Railway’s favour, for the lunchtime push back.
Railway settled immediately, defending high up the pitch, and not allowing Pegasus time on the ball. They created 3 great chances, before Lily Lloyd gave Railway a 15th minute goal and a 1-0 1st quarter lead.

The 2nd quarter was much the same fare, though Pegasus did manage to force a couple of penalty corners. Railway pressure relentless and they increased their lead with goals from Katie Mullan, 21 minutes and Kate . . .
