On Thursday evening Cookstown High School met Royal Belfast Academical Institution in the final of the Ferris Cup at Stormont. As I encountered flooding on the Outer ring, it occurred to me that the game might be postponed, such was the deluge. It was somehow apt that ‘Noah’ featured on one of the teams.
In deeply unpleasant conditions both teams set about their task in torrential rain.

Cookstown were the first to show pressing the Inst defence. On 7 minutes Noah Cuddy’s shot found the net to put Cookstown 1-0 up.
Both teams had opportunities in a scoreless 2nd quarter, but Cookstown were on top. Cookstown led 1-0 at halftime.
