Medallion Shield: Royal Belfast Academical Institution 15 Campbell College 13 Quarter Final

, , ,

On Saturday morning it was almost déjà vu as Campbell were, once again, the visitors to Osborne to play Royal Belfast Academical Institution, this time in a Medallion Shield quarter final tie. Both touchlines were lined by supporters not frightened to encourage their team. A bass drum and 2 pipers added to the sense of occasion.

There were nerves from both sides in the opening exchanges with dropped balls bringing ironic cheers from the touchlines.

Campbell took the lead from a Sam Bowen penalty goal on 6 minutes for a 3-0 lead. Both teams weren’t frightened to bring their backlines into attack running from deep, but defences held out.
