Irish Junior Cup: Mossley II 0 Pegasus II 4

I caught up with the Hockey Ireland Junior Cup clash between Mossley II and Pegasus II at Jordanstown Sports Village in a late afternoon pass back.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable game between two determined sides with a nice bit of edge to it making it my game of the weekend.

Pegasus started in a determined fashion with Rachael Murdock and Suzanne Ferris leading the charge. Mossley defended well but Pegasus got their breakthrough at the end of the first quarter when Sasha Tindal turned in a penalty corner to give Pegasus a 0 – 1 lead.

The second quarter was a bruising midfield battle with the sides cancelling each other out and the first half ended with the score still at 0 – 1.

Rachel Murdock scored at the start of the second half.
