I stayed on at Roughfort for the Senior 2 clash between Owls 1st XI and Priorians on Saturday afternoon. The intention was to do a half of this match and then do a half of rugby but, with a delayed start and a with it being a close game I decided to stay on for the duration.
Nothing separated the teams after the first three quarters, the game falling into a pattern of Owls enjoying the bulk of territory, possession and chances with Priorians happy to soak up the pressure and look for a quick break through their young strikers.
With this fairly well defined pattern of play there were plenty of personal battles across the pitch.
Priorians tactics paid off at the start of the fourth quarter . . .
