It was a bit of a scramble to find matches on Saturday in the aftermath of the frost but I managed to catch the first half of the Qualifying Plate match between Ulster University Elks and Larne 2nd XI’s at the Jordanstown Sports Village.
The teams had met the previous week in the highly competitive Junior 2 with the Elks winning 2 – 0 at the same venue but the young Larne side, packed with players Larne Grammar’s successful Superleague II and Senior Plate wins, took it to the home team throughout the first half.
The combo of Taylor Black and Katie Allen once again worked well for Larne with Allen getting plenty of runs down the left.
