Denman Ulster Shield: Pegasus 4 Portadown 2

Pegasus welcomed a young Portadown side to The Dub for a Denman Ulster Hockey group match early Saturday afternoon.

Under chilly but bright conditions, the gathered spectators eagerly anticipated stellar entertainment from both teams, and boy, were they not disappointed!

Pegasus started strong, snatching the lead with a fine diving deflection from No. 10 Steph Ardis, giving the keeper scant chance.

Steph Ardis dives at the near post for Pegasus’ opening goal.

This spurred Portadown into action, as they began to menace the home circle. A breakaway from No. 11 Katie Herron saw her outmaneuver Peg’s keeper, Megan Todd, and slot home for the equalizer. Play flowed back and forth for the remainder of the quarter, with no further score.
