Though the rain held off, it only got greyer and gloomier as I made my from Havelock Park to the school for the Schools Cup Pool E fixture between Banbridge Academy and Limavady Grammar School. Both schools were unbeaten in Pool E, at 2 from 2, with Banbridge yet to concede a single point.
A strong diagonal wind was in Limavady’s favour, in the first half. Banbridge started tentatively, falling off some tackles. They conceded 2 early short range penalties, dispatched by Cooper McCausland, after 7 and 12 minutes, to go down 0-6.
