Wednesday afternoon saw the Prior Shield Final, played at Havelock Park between Royal Belfast Academical Institution II and Wallace High School II. The sun had now gone and with a lack of cloud cover the temperature dropped sharply.
It took only 4 minutes for Michael McIlroy to open the scoring for Wallace, who had caught a strangely tentative Inst side cold. Wallace had the best of the 1st quarter, though Inst had chances. Wallace led 1-0 at the end of the quarter.
