I caught up with the Medallion Shield match between Larne Grammar and Royal School Dungannon on a cold Saturday morning at Larne’s Lower Cairncastle grounds.
Despite the cold the game warmed up fairly quickly with Dungannon’s Harry Mills running in a try straight from a midfield scrum after a too short kick off by the hosts. Thomas Jenkins added the conversion to take the score to 0 – 7.
Larne looked for a response abut a faulty lineout prevented the home side from building pressure and Dungannon went over for their second when their No.12 crossed after a period of pressure in the Larne 22. Jenkins again converted to push the score out to 0 – 14.
