The weather changed on my drive up from Banbridge, now low sunshine bathed Deramore Park for the Women’s Premier league game between 6th placed, Belfast Harlequins and 3rd placed, Portadown.

An early Claire Whiteside brace stunned Portadown

Quins settled quickly and a brace of Claire Whiteside goals on 5 and 8 minutes rattled Portadown’s composure. Portadown pulled themselves together and created chance, but at the end of the 1st quarter Quins led 2-0.

Rebekah Lennon pulled one back for Portadown

Portadown asserted themselves in the 2nd quarter, moving the Quins defence around. It took until the 27thminute before . . .
