On Saturday afternoon Queens faced North Down in a Men’s Premier League fixture at The Dub, Upper Malone.
In a scoreless 1st half Queens were totally in control, dominating midfield and creating opportunities for the forwards. A stubborn and at times scrambling North Down defence kept Queens at bay, despite the plethora of penalty corners earned. Halftime arrived with the Queens keeper barely troubled.

The 3rd quarter was much the same fare, with Queens dominating. The threatened rain hit with a vengeance and by the end of the quarter was a deluge. In the last 10 seconds of the quarter, North Down in a very rare attack scored, when Gareth Bailey rifled the ball home to give North Down an unlikely 1-0 lead at the end of the quarter.
