On Wednesday evening a young Banbridge side hosted Lisnagarvey in the Anderson Cup Final at Havelock Park. As befits rivals only 14 miles apart, there was an edge to the game. Both Captains, in their post-game speeches, congratulated the umpires on ‘keeping a lid on things!’

After the opening exchanges, Garvey settled first and opened the scoring after 10 minutes, when Matthew Aughey, spun in the D and lashed a shot into the roof of the net, to lead 1-0. Only 3 minutes later Andrew Williamson hit an almost identical shot for Garvey to go 2-0 up.
Garvey led 2-0 at the end of the 1st quarter.
