We caught up with Banbridge Academy and Friends School Lisburn 2nd XI’s as they competed for the Dowdall Cup at Havelock Park on Wednesday afternoon.
The match started just as, the now habitual, rain kicked in. It looked as though it was going to be a tight game as the teams battle out a fairly even, bust scoreless, first quarter.

Two goals in less than a minute, by Jake Rainer turned the game firmly in Banbridge’s favour at the start of the second quarter. The busy Rainer picked up his first from a penalty corner before intercepting a pass to sprint clear for his second straight from the restart to give Banbridge a 2 – 0 lead.
