It was a short walk back up from the rugby pitch to cover the All Ireland League confrontation between Pegasus and Old Alex, late Saturday afternoon. Pegasus lay 4th in the table, Old Alex, the position below.
It was end to end play, in a scoreless 1st half. Neither side could take the chances that they created. Goalkeepers and defences were on top. Towards the end of the half Pegasus seemed to be taking the initiative.
It was perhaps against the run of play, when Alex opened the scoring 2 minutes after the break. Abby Russell’s goal broke the deadlock.
Pegasus had a number of chances, when Russell struck again in the 43rd minute to leave Alex up 0 – 2 at the end of the 3rd quarter.
