There are only 2 kilometres between Bangor Academy & Bangor Grammar School. On Saturday morning the near neighbours contested a Schools Bowl tie at Bangor Grammar. This was the first year that Bangor Academy had contested the Schools Cup & the first time that the schools had met competitively. A large crowd of very vocal, partisan parents created a great atmosphere.

Both teams showed 100% commitment

The Grammar kicked off & caught Academy cold. Alex Shaw’s 2nd minute penalty goal gave the Grammar a 3-0 lead. Unable to clear their lines Academy conceded a try to prop Noah Courtney-Gardiner’s drive over & went down 0-8 on 5 minutes.
