Late Sunday afternoon, on a typical autumn day, Ulster played Leinster, in the U18 Girls Interprovincial Championships at Lisnagarvey HC. After the success of the U16s in the previous game, hopes were high.
In a scoreless 1st half Leinster closed Ulster down. Ulster forays into the Leinster half were infrequent. Leinster appeared to always have an extra player, creating overlaps in attacks. However, the Ulster defence held firm.

In the 3rd quarter Ulster began to string passes together, moving the Leinster defence out of position, creating chances and troubling the Leinster keeper. Neither team could break their opponents defence in a scoreless 3rdquarter.
