Given the traffic congestion I’d experienced on my way to Newforge for my 1 pm match I decided to stay for this game rather than waste a half hour trying to get back across town. I’m glad I did as this was a cracker of a game as Pegasus IIs and Lisnagarvey IIs went head to head in a McConnell Shield match.
Pegasus started the game on the front foot and looked to be getting the better of the early exchange and it was no surprise when they took an early lead through Ruby Tindal.
Lisnagarvey started to get some traction late in the first quarter but it was somewhat against the run of play when Dianne Robb scored the equaliser at the end of the quarter.
