Over the weekend of Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th June, Athletics Ireland held its Annual National Championships at Morton Stadium, Santry, Dublin. Large crowds, on both days, enjoyed a very smoothly run meeting by officials.
The athletes faced challenging conditions, both days, with heavy rain showers, punctuated by harsh sunlight and strong, gusting winds blowing down the home straight. Some field events were moved back to later in the day, hoping for kinder conditions.
