On Friday evening Ireland met South Africa for the 5th game of a 5-match Indoor International Series at Gormanston Park. Ireland won the 1st game, but South Africa won the rest to lead the series 3-1. To all intents and purposes this was a dead rubber, but neither set of players believed that!

In the first quarter play was intense. Ireland took the game to South Africa, playing with 6 outfielders and no keeper. It paid dividends when they took the lead in the 7th minute when Mikayla Power scored.
