At Friday lunchtime, Strabane Academy travelled up to Grosvenor Grammar School to play a twice postponed Medallion Shield Tie.

Strabane started brightly and took the lead with an 8th minute penalty goal to lead 3-0.

Stefan Buick opened the scoring for Grosvenor Grammar School

Grosvenor had to wait to the 17th minute, when stole a Strabane ball in a maul and ran unopposed behind the posts for a try converted by .

Grosvenor lead 7-3 at the the break.

Grosvenor consolidated their lead when Davidson-Best converted a short range penalty goal to lead 10-3.

Strabane Grammar School attempt a 2nd half breakout

Pressure told in the second half and a brace on 8 and 30 minutes, and a try on 21 minutes, together with a Davidson-Best conversion, completed the scoring.

Grosvenor won 27-3 but the scoeline did no favours to a very gritty and determined Strabane team, who spurned a number of scoring opportunities.
