On Saturday Ireland U19 played Scotland U19 in the penultimate round of the Men’s Four Nations Series game at a sunny University of Ulster, Jordanstown, Campus. It was a high scoring, scrappy affair, with, at times, both defenses going AWOL.

A tense first half ended with Scotland taking the lead in the last play, Pete Caughey latching onto a corner rebound to give Scotland a 0 – 1 lead at the break.

Things certainly livened up in the second half with Ireland’s Patrick Rose scoring within a minute of resumption. In an exciting third quarter Scotland went back in front through Jamie Croll and Keir Robb expended the lead to 1 – 3 midway through.

Ireland battled back with scores from Craig McKay and Adam Walker to take the score to 3 all and the teams went into the final quarter with everything to play for.
