BRA travelled to Osborne on Saturday morning for a Schools’ Cup tie against neighbours RBAI. Despite the approach of Storm Ciara, the sun shone and there was only a gentle breeze.
It was nip and tuck in the first few minutes before BRA broke away through their captain Rob Sturges, who scored under the posts. Ollie Parkes converted to give BRA a 7 – 0 lead.

BRA continued to press but following a yellow card for a high tackle to full back Ryan Jameson, momentum changed.
On 23 minutes a try by Oscar Lowe and conversion by Ronan Boyle, for RBAI, drew the teams level. RBAI continued to press and were rewarded on the stroke of half time when Boyle converted his own try.
In injury time David Purcell scored, again converted by Boyle to give RBAI a 21 – 7 lead at half time.
In a devastating 10 minutes after the break RBAI scored 3 tries through Sam Collins, Boyle and Rory Adair, two converted by Boyle.
RBAI continued to dominate and it was no surprise that on 20 and 25 minutes respectively Jude Postlethwaite and Adair added to the tries scored, one converted by Boyle.
In the closing minutes BRA had the last say in the game with a consolation try by Parkes giving a final score of RBAI 47 BRA 12.
RBAI will look forward to a home tie against Friends or Ballyclare HS, who drew their tie yesterday.
