Ipswich GS are playing a series of games as part of their European Tour which includes visits to Dublin, Belfast, Liverpool, Gloucester, London, Ypres, and Paris.
Methody started the game as they meant to go on. They pressed for 30 minutes, with Ipswich Grammar rarely getting out of their ’22’.
However, the stubborn visiting defence held firm and when a loose Methody pass was picked up in the Ipswich ’22’, the Ipswich centre ran 80 metres for a converted try in the corner.
Within a minute Melody were level through a Lorcan Hanratty try, converted by Calum Davidson, and 2 minutes later the home team took the lead with a Calum Doherty try, again converted by Davidson, to leave the half time score 14-7 in Methody’s favour.
The second half continued where the first half left off.
Methody camped in the Ipswich half. Occasional Ipswich forays were snuffled out and Methody scored 2 further tries through Lewis Montgomery and Ryan Doyle, one converted by Davidson.
Methody thoroughly deserved their 26 – 7 comprehensive victory
