Campbell College progressed to the final of the Schools Cup with a 24 – 3 win against Dalriada. The St Patrick’s Day final will feature Campbell and local Belfast rivals RBAI.
Campbell took control of the game in the first half with tries from Jamie Macartney, Jack Howarth and Nicolai Koplewsky, with scrum half Malcolm Corry landing one conversion.
Despite their best efforts Dalriada were only able to land a penalty, from Stewart Moore, and the teams turned round with the Belfast side leading 17 – 3.
Cheered on by a large vocal support the Ballymoney side pushed hard in the second half but the Campbell defence stood firm and a solo try from No. 8 Jack Barry-Glendinning, converted by Corry, wrapped up the game for Campbell.
