Schools’ Cup: RBAI 38 Sullivan Upper 0

We are currently carrying out a necessary behind-the-scenes upgrade to how images are stored and delivered on The Front Row Union Sports. With over 770,000 images on the site, we are moving our entire image library to a dedicated cloud storage service. This means images will load faster for you, regardless of where you are in the world, and the site will be more reliable overall.

As we are working on three separate versions of images during the offload process, the site cache sometimes struggles to keep up with which version to display and occasionally post grid images or complete galleries may fail to appear. This is a temporary side effect of the migration process — the image exists and is safe, it is simply in the process of being moved to its new home and identified as being there. A refresh of the page will usually bring them back, however, if it does not please contact john@thefrontrowunion.com stating clearly the post address and we will restore it as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience.

We expect the bulk of the image migration to be completed by the end of June 2026, with a fully upgraded version of the site ready to launch in August 2026. Once that work is done, the site will be noticeably faster, images will load more reliably, and you will not see any further disruption of this kind. Thank you for your continued support of The Front Row Union Sports.

1st Half // 2nd Half // Gallery

Most competitive fixtures on Saturday were just that: close fought encounters decided within the last 10 minutes; unfortunately this Cup quarterfinal was not one of them as an in-form RBAI and under-performing Sullivan made for a one-sided affair.

Sullivan actually started the brighter of the two sides, keeping Inst in their own half for the first 10 minutes or so; however, RBAI’s first try set the tone for the whole game as was stopped illegally after charging down an attempted clearance for what would have been a certain try. The penalty score was awarded and an easy conversion made as Sullivan were reduced to 14.

Other tries quickly followed from a turned-over scrum, a brilliant chip-and-chase from Inst captain , and a great team effort finally brought over the line by Rhys O’Donnell. made all but one of his conversion attempts and so RBAI ended the half totally on top and looking very comfortable.

The pain continued for Sullivan in the second half although there were glimpses of better form; in normal circumstances they may have had a few scores on the board from penalty kicks, but being so far behind they continued to opt for the corner.

Their improvement was also displayed through the scoreline as they allowed only 12 points in the second half compared to 26, these points coming from another try by Rhys O’Donnell and an interception by . If the first try set the tone, the final try summed up the morning for Sullivan who will know that they never gave anywhere near as good as display as they were capable of.
