We have an opening for a trainee photographer in the Belfast area for the coming season. The work will primarily be on Saturday afternoons throughout the season.

We see it as a development opportunity for someone studying for qualifications in journalism, sports media, or similar. However, we are happy to hear from anyone with an interest in photography and sports.

Summary:

We are looking for an enthusiastic trainee photographer to join our team and cover rugby and hockey matches in the Belfast area, primarily working the four sports centres pictured below.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for photography and a keen interest in sports. They will be provided with a professional camera, laptop, and accessories, and full training will be provided. The candidate must be able to provide their own transport to and from the above venues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Attend rugby and hockey matches in the Belfast area and take photos of the action.
• Select the best photos for publication using Photo Mechanic.
• Edit photos using Lightroom.
• Upload photos to our website and social media channels.
• Assist with other photography projects as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Interest in photography and sports.
• Computer literate.
• Experienced in social media.
• Ability to communicate with teams and provide a brief match report including scorer details.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

• Saturdays only
• Matches are typically between 11:00 and 17:00 with an expectation of one or two matches covered per week in this timeframe.
• Own transport required

Salary:

• £15 per hour, 3 – 6 hrs per week.
